NFL Recap: Minnesota Vikings (10) vs. Chicago Bears (20) - Date: 10/31/2016 Jay Cutler threw for 252 yards and a touchdown after missing five games with a thumb injury, rookie Jordan Howard ran for a career-high 153 yards and a TD, and the Chicago Bears stunned the Minnesota Vikings 20-10 on Monday night. Winning Sports Handicappers. The Bears (2-6) sacked Sam Bradford five times while handing the NFC North-leading Vikings (5-2) their second straight loss. Cutler was on target in his return from a sprained right thumb. Howard easily surpassed his previous high of 118 yards. Alshon Jeffery got his first touchdown reception of the season, and Chicago outgained Minnesota 403 yards to 258. Cutler had not played since he exited against Philadelphia in the second game of the season. But with his future up in the air after coach John Fox wavered in his commitm ent to him as the starter, he made a triumphant return. Cutler completed 20 of 31 passes, including an 11-yard touchdown to Jeffery early in the third that made it 20-3. Whether he quieted fans who thought the Bears were better off with Brian Hoyer is another issue. But that became a moot point when Hoyer broke his left arm last week in a Thursday night loss at Green Bay. Howard had a 69-yard run, the longest for Chicago in seven years. Zach Miller added 88 yards receiving as the Bears stopped a three-game losing streak. Bradford, playing behind a porous line, had another rough game after getting sacked six times the previous week against Philadelphia. He was 23 of 37 for 228 yards. Matt Asiata ran for 42 yards with Jerick McKinnon sidelined by an ankle injury. With a sparse and quiet crowd looking on, the Bears led 13-3 at halftime. It was almost a bigger advantage, but Chicago settled for field goals on its first two trips inside the 20. Howard, a fifth-round draft pick, b roke off a 69-yard run to the 13 on Chicago's first possession. It was the longest rushing play for the Bears since Kahlil Bell's 72-yarder against Philadelphia on Nov. 22, 2009. But instead of a touchdown, the Bears got a field goal from Connor Barth. NFL Football Handicappers. They got another field goal early in the second after Xavier Rhodes broke up a pass to Jeffery in the end zone on third down at the 10. Chicago finally broke through midway through the second quarter when Howard scored on a 2-yard run to make it 13-0. Free Sports Picks Twitter. NBA Preview: Phoenix Suns vs. Los Angeles Clippers - Date: 10/31/2016 Time: 10:30 P.M. EST Venue: STAPLES Center LOS ANGELES -- The health of center DeAndre Jordan was a major concern for the Los Angeles Clippers heading into Monday's matchup against the Phoenix Suns at Staples Center. Jordan suffered what was initially diagnosed as a sprained right thumb in the third quarter of Sunday's 88-75 win over the Utah Jazz. Jordan, who was in noticeable pain, went to the bench and was treated by a trainer before returning to play almost five minutes in the fourth quarter. He finished with seven points and 16 rebounds in 28 minutes. Jordan was examined more extensively Sunday night. Good Return on Investment. The Clippers said an X-ray was negative, meaning Jordan does not have any broken bones." I was worried because I saw the swelling in his hand," Clipp ers coach Doc Rivers said after the game. "When it's that quick, that's never a good thing. Profitable NBA Basketball Handicappers. Then, he went back in and I started feeling a little bit better." The Clippers (2-0) have relied on Jordan, their defense, rebounding and key contributions from their bench to start the season well. Handicapper Directory. They limited the Jazz to 39.7 percent shooting and enjoyed a slight edge in rebounding (49-43), an area the Clippers were lax in last season." We've just got to continue to grow and continue to defend," said backup guard Austin Rivers, who delivered a game-high 19 points against the Jazz. Reserve forward-center Marreese Speights, who joined the Clippers as a free agent after three seasons with the Golden State Warriors, has come up with crucial play s in both of the team's victories. After scoring 15 points in the season-opening triumph over the Portland Trail Blazers on Thursday, Speights drew four offensive fouls against Utah. NBA Basketball Handicappers. The Suns (0-3) will continue charging toward a win. Sunday's 106-100 loss to the Golden State Warriors came on the heels of setbacks to the Oklahoma City Thunder and Sacramento Kings." The wins are going to come this season," said forward T. J. Warren, who had 26 points against the Warriors and has been one of the early surprises for the Suns. Warren is averaging a team-best 22 points per game with seven rebounds. He scored a career-high 30 against the Thunder." So we're not worried; we've just got to continue to play hard. My teammates are doing a good job of finding me and I just have to stay aggressive" Warren said. Sports Illustrated Picks. The Suns also have injury woes. Guard Devin Booker, who showed much promise last season by scoring 13.8 points per game in his rookie campaign, is nursing a sprained big toe. Booker got hurt in Friday's loss to the Thunder. He was bothered by the toe against Golden State, managing just seven points on 3-of-12 shooting." Devin's tough," Suns coach Earl Watson said. "But if you watch him, he's been limping around a lot. He has no excuses, but we need him to be efficient and he has to be healthy to be efficient." Eric Bledsoe, a former Clipper, is off to a solid start. Bledsoe is averaging 16 points and 5.7 assists per game. Phoenix's Tyson Chandler remains one of the NBA's top defensive centers, averaging 12.7 boards per game.

NBA Preview: Sacramento Kings vs. Atlanta Hawks - Date: 10/31/2016 Time: 07:30 P.M. EST Venue: Philips Arena ATLANTA -- The Sacramento Kings snapped a 15-game losing streak to Atlanta at home last season. Now they will try to end their losing ways on the road against the Hawks. Sports Monitor. The Kings, off to an encouraging 2-1 start under new coach Dave Joerger, start a tough five-game road swing Monday night at Atlanta, where they have dropped nine games in a row. Profitable NBA Basketball Handicappers. The Kings won their opener at Phoenix, then split their first two games at their new home arena. Sacramento was down by 18 points in the second quarter Saturday night against the Minnesota Timberwolves, but rallied for a 106-103 victory." I think there is a nice difference between being 2 -1 and 1-2 and how you feel about yourself, knowing you are going to play your next five in all kinds of different states around the union," Joerger said after the victory. "That's a better feeling getting on the plane." The Hawks improved to 2-0 with an easy 104-72 victory over the 76ers on Saturday in Philadelphia and are a tough team for the Kings to have to open their long road trip against. Sacramento hasn't won in Atlanta since March 3, 2006, but the Kings gave the Hawks a scare last November before falling 103-97. DeMarcus Cousins had 24 points and 12 rebounds in that game, then had 24 points and 16 rebounds as the Kings won 91-88 in January at Sacramento to snap their long overall losing streak to the Hawks. Cousins had 29 points and Rudy Gay scored 28 in the Kings' comeback victory over Minnesota." To me, Cousins and Rudy are one of the best one-two punches in the game," said veteran Matt Barnes, who played under Joerger last sea son at Memphis. Joerger has tightened up the Kings defensively and his offensive imprint is also apparent." There is still some times when we struggle, when we revert to playing isolation basketball," the coach said. "What happens is we try to dribble into crowds and then we end up with no play. It just takes time." The Kings are also without Darren Collison, leaving Ty Lawson as the team's only proven point guard. Collison was suspended by the NBA for the first eight games of the season after pleading guilty to domestic abuse. Sports Cappers. The Hawks have a new look this season as well with the addition of Dwight Howard in the middle and Dennis Schroder running the team instead of Jeff Teague. Howard had 19 rebounds in a victory over Washington in his home debut, but was limited by foul trouble in the easy victory in Philadelphia. Schroder had a career-best 11 assists against the 76ers. Pau l Millsap had a shortened training camp after a knee procedure, but he showed no ill effects in the Hawks' opening victories, averaging 22.5 points." He's played very, very well in the first two games," Hawks coach Mike Budenholzer said. Millsap was also the key reason that the Hawks kept their winning streak alive against the Kings in Atlanta last season, scoring 23 points and grabbing 16 rebounds. He had to play just 27 minutes during the romp in Philadelphia." I feel pretty good," Millsap said. "We are looking at the now, but it's more about the later. Keeping me fresh, keeping my healthy through the course of the year. We talked about keeping my minutes low, so when I'm out I can put it all out there."

NBA Preview: Chicago Bulls vs. Brooklyn Nets - Date: 10/31/2016 Time: 07:30 P.M. EST Venue: Barclays Center NEW YORK -- An underwhelming 42-40 non-playoff season led to a summer of drastic changes for the Chicago Bulls. Nine new players were added, highlighted by the additions of guards Rajon Rondo and Dwyane Wade. Naturally, questions about cohesion were a theme of preseason. Sports Handicapping Service Leads. Two games into the regular season, things are going well and the Bulls look to remain unbeaten Monday night when they visit the Brooklyn Nets." We've been practicing about 30 days straight," Rondo said. "The chemistry is coming along (but) it's early." Last season, the Bulls also won their first two games and began with a 22-12 record but wound up going 20-28 the rest of the way, prompting the trade of Derrick Rose to the N ew York Knicks and allowing Joakim Noah to sign with New York in free agency. NBA Basketball Handicappers. Those departures left Jimmy Butler as the main option and then came the signings of Rondo and Wade. Butler has 40 points in his first two games, Rondo has 22 assists and Wade has 36 points. Football Picks Today. Those three players might have more points and assists, but during Saturday's 118-101 win over Indiana, they saw some rest as Doug McDermott scored 23 points on 9-of-14 shooting while the Bulls collected 34 assists and shot 52 percent." It's good to see this early in the season," Wade said. "We have the format to how we need to play. It is about making sure we get to that (style of) game more times than not throughout the year." The Bulls will try to maintain their style (111.5 points per gam e, 118.4 offensive rating) against a team with low expectations but plenty of competiveness in their first three games. In the first three games, the Nets have nearly rallied from a 23-point deficit at Boston, held Indiana to 15 fourth-quarter points in a nine-point win and nearly came back at Milwaukee on Saturday before losing 110-108 on a John Henson tip-in at the buzzer." I told our guys to keep with it, stay with it," Brooklyn coach Kenny Atkinson said. "I'm proud of our resiliency. I wish we would have shot a little bit better. Free NBA Basketball Picks. Turnovers hurt us. We had a lot of open looks, and at the end we had a chance to win the game." Bojan Bogdanovic scored 26 points and hit a 3-pointer with 11.6 seconds remaining before Henson won it. Bogdanovic's 3-pointer was one of 11 in 35 attempts Brooklyn had Saturday. Profitable Sports Handicappers. The Nets have increased their reliance on 3-pointers by going 36 of 112 (32.1 percent). It is the second time in franchise history that Brooklyn has attempted at least 30 3-pointers in three straight games. Brook Lopez has been part of the increased emphasis on 3-pointers, as he is 1-of-6 this season and 4-of-37 for his career. Lopez was rested Saturday but he is expected to play Monday." I think we're just building him up," Atkinson said of resting Lopez. "We have a plan to increase his minutes, increase his playing time as the season goes on. I think it's a smart way to look at it. We're thinking long-term, big picture. Soon enough he'll be at his normal minutes." Lopez's return from not making the trip to Milwaukee will coincide with another meeting against twin brother Robin Lopez. It is the 14th meeting between the siblings and this is the fifth opposing team Robin has been with after spending time with Phoenix, New Orleans, Portland and New York. Robin Lopez's teams have won seven meetings against his twin. Robin has averaged 9.8 points while Brook Lopez has averaged 21 points. Profitable NBA Basketball Handicappers. The Nets have lost three straight home meetings with the Bulls. Chicago also has won 13 of the last 18 regular-season meetings, including a 115-100 victory on Oct. 28, 2015, in Brooklyn. Monday will mark Wade's 39th regular-season meeting against the Nets. In his first 38 with the Miami Heat, the 12-time All-Star won 28 of those games. Wade has scored at least 30 points eight times against the Nets, including March 28 in Miami when he had 30 on 14-of-19 shooting. He also had 27 games with at least 20 points against the Nets, including both visits to Brooklyn last season when he totaled 55 points on 24 of 39 from the floor.

It's good to see him on the court ( Friday). And as is always the case, how does he feel the next day," coach Michael Malone told the Denver Post prior to Saturday's game. Arthur, meanwhile, has missed both games due to a knee injury." Gary is a guy that is one of the better young two-way players in the NBA," Malone said. "We are going to be really smart and prudent about his injury and not rush him back so when he does come back, we can have him for an extended stay." Facing the Raptors will mark the first NBA game north of the border for Canadian guard Jamal Murray. Free NBA Basketball Picks. The 19-year-old University of Kentucky product grew up 70 miles west of Toronto. Sports Handicapper Tracker. Through his first two games of the season, Murray has averaged 2.5 rebounds and 1.5 assists." It's very difficult, you've got to have s ome intellect going your way," Raptors coach Dwane Casey said of a young player like Murray adjusting to the NBA. "He's a very intelligent kid." He's going to be a nice young player, also, his speed with the basketball, his ability to shoot the ball -- once he understands the speed of the game, angles and personnel and understands the league after he goes through it a couple times -- he's going to be a really really effective player for Denver." The Raptors dropped both games against the Nuggets last season falling 106-105 at home in December and losing 112-93 at Denver in February." People looked at them last year and said, 'Well how did you lose to them twice?' They're a very talented, skilled team that I think is underrated just because they're so young," Casey said. MLB Recap: Cleveland Indians (2) vs. Chicago Cubs (3) - Date: 10/30/2016 They've waited 108 years for a championship. So with this World Series on the verge of slipping away, the Chicago Cubs could not wait any longer. Manager Joe Maddon summoned closer Aroldis Chapman from the bullpen in the seventh inning for the first eight-out save of his big league career, needing to hold off the Cleveland Indians in Game 5. As nervous fans fretted at Wrigley Field, Chapman fired his 100 mph heat and preserved the Cubs' 3-2 win Sunday night, cutting Cleveland's lead to 3-2. Best Free Sports Picks. The Cubs won a Series game at Wrigley for the first time since Game 6 in 1945.'' High anxiety,'' first baseman Anthony Rizzo said. ''A lot of deep breaths. Every pitch gets bigger and bigger as the game goes on. It's unbelievable. Great win here, we sent these fans off with a win, now we have to go to Cleveland and win.'' Now, the team that led the majors in wins this year will try to extend its season again Tuesday night when Chicago right-hander Jake Arrieta faces Josh Tomlin at Cleveland in Game 6. Chicago is trying to become the first club to overcome a 3-1 Series deficit since the 1985 Kansas City Royals and the first to do it by winning Games 6 and 7 on the road since the 1979 Pittsburgh Pirates. Cleveland, in search of its first title since 1948, is in search of its third-ever title and has won the championship at home just once, in 1920. Chapman hadn't pitched in the seventh inning since 2012. He threw 42 pitches, 15 of them at least 100 mph. Free MLB Baseball Picks. The lefty struck out four and fanned Jose Ramirez, who had homered earlier, with 101 mph heat to end it. Chapman came in with a runner on second and one out. He stranded the potential tying run at second base in the seventh and at third in the eighth, then pitched a 1-2-3 ninth. Lester, the Game 1 loser, improved to 4-1 in Series play by allowing two runs and six hits. Ramirez homered in the second to put the Indians ahead. Cleveland closed within a run in the sixth when Rajai Davis singled, stole second scored on a two-out single by Francisco Lindor. Mike Napoli singled against Edwards leading off the seventh and took second on a passed ball by rookie catc her Willson Contreras, who had just replaced David Ross. Carlos Santana flied out, and Chapman came in to strike out Ramirez with a 100 mph pitch. He hit Brandon Guyer on the left leg and retired Roberto Perez on a groundout as fans screamed in relief. Sports Handicapping Monitor. Then in the eighth, Davis singled with one out on a hard grounder down the line that Rizzo stopped with a dive - Chapman took a few seconds before heading to cover first, leaving Rizzo with no one to throw to. Davis stole second, and after Jason Kipnis fouled out, swiped third standing up. Lindor, Cleveland's hottest hitter, took a 101 mph pitch at the knees for a called third strike, then stood in the batter's box for nearly 20 seconds in anger and frustration. Bauer, his pinkie seemingly healed from a cut sustained while playing with a toy drone during the AL Championship Series, dropped to 0-2 in the Series, giving up three runs and six hits in four innings. After a pair of relatively balmy autumn nights on the North Side, the temperature dropped to 50 degrees at game time and a 10 mph win added chill. Maddon wore a ski hat with a blue pompom rather than a baseball cap. Bryant, in a 1-for-15 slide, led off the fourth with a drive into the left-field bleachers, where a fan in the first row dropped it. Rizzo sent the next pitch off the ivy on the right-field wall for a double, admiring its flight before hustling, took third on Ben Zobrist's single and came home with the go-ahead run when Addison Russell reached out and topped a pitch down the third-base line for an infield single. Jason Heyward took a called third strike, slumping Javier Baez dropped a bunt down the third-base line for a single that loaded the bases and Ross, a 39-year-old making perhaps his final big league start, hit a sacrifice fly for a 3-1 lead. It was similar to Game 6 in 1980, when Philadelphia first baseman Pete Rose grabbed Frank White's foul pop after it nicked off catcher Bob Boone. WEB GEMCubs right fielder Heyward climbed the brick wall in the right-field corner, then reached back to catch Bauer's wind-blown foul fly. NBA Recap: San Antonio Spurs (106) vs. Miami Heat (99) - Date: 10/30/2016 Kawhi Leonard scored 14 of his 27 points in the final 6:04, doing so with a bandage under his right eye and helping the San Antonio Spurs hold off the Miami Heat 106-99 on Sunday night to remain unbeaten. Leonard left the game with 8:29 remaining to be tended to and returned for the final 6:48. Pau Gasol had 20 points and 11 rebounds for the Spurs, who wasted a 16-point first-half lead before recovering. Patty Mills added 18 for San Antonio, the first team to get to 4-0 in this young NBA season. Hassan Whiteside made his final seven shots and tied a career-high with 27 points for Miami, also grabbing 15 rebounds. Goran Dragic scored 25 points and Justise Winslow added 18 for the Heat. Down big early, Miami kept chipping away - getting within eight by halftime, one in the third and finally taking the lead back on a layup by Dragic right before Leonard returne d. Winning Sports Picks Who You Should Follow. They held that lead for 18 seconds. Leonard, who didn't seem bothered in the least by the bandage, found Mills for a 3-pointer on his first possession back in the game and then drove down a wide-open lane for a dunk on the next San Antonio trip. Just like that, the Spurs were back on top - and they wouldn't trail again. When the Spurs last visited on Feb. 9, both teams used 11 players. Of those 22, only seven were on the floor again for this matchup - four for the Spurs, three for the Heat. Unbeknownst to anyone at the time, that game was the last Chris Bosh has played for the Heat. He was diagnosed with a blood clot in Toronto two nights later, pulled out of All-Star weekend with what was called a calf strain, and thus started the trek toward where he is now - unable to get cleared to play because of his health issues and remaining part of the Heat in name onl y until he almost certainly gets waived in early 2017. But even with tons of change, the Spurs remain the Spurs.'' They still have all the San Antonio principles, even without an incredible Hall of Fame player like (Tim Duncan),'' Heat coach Erik Spoelstra said. ''I think for any basketball aficionado, you absolutely respect and enjoy how San Antonio just finds a way to stay ahead of the curve, continue to reinvent and be incredibly efficient on both sides of the game.'' TIP-INSSpurs: Gregg Popovich's teams are now 13-13 in Miami, having won their last five visits. ... Leonard made his first five free throws before missing, ending his streak of 33 makes to start the season. ... LaMarcus Aldridge (rest) got the night off. ... Danny Green (left quad strain) was on the one-day trip for camaraderie's sake, Popovich said, though noted he isn't expected to play for a couple more weeks. Heat: Whiteside wore a sleeve to protect his stitched-up left elbow, which was cut in Friday's loss to Charlotte. ... Winslow missed his first five shots, airballing the last. He then made his next seven. ... Spoelstra said Josh Richardson (knee) is getting closer to his season debut, but hasn't gone through a full practice yet. SHORT NIGHT, LONG WEEKThe Spurs played at home on Saturday night, then landed in Miami at 2:30 a.m. - a tough turnaround for a 6 p.m. start against the Heat, even by NBA schedule standards. Good news for the Spurs: This trip is one of only two instances this season when they'll deal with such a long flight on a back-to-back. Bad news for the Spurs: The other is later this week. San Antonio plays Friday in Utah, then flies 1,100 miles to host the Clippers on Saturday. UP NEXTSpurs: San Antonio goes home to face Utah on Tuesday. Profitable NBA Basketball Handicappers. NFL Recap: Green Bay Packers (32) vs. Atlanta Falcons (33) - Date: 10/30/2016 Matt Ryan threw an 11-yard touchdown pass to Mohamed Sanu with 31 seconds remaining, rallying the Atlanta Falcons to a 33-32 victory over Aaron Rodgers and the Green Bay Packers on Sunday. Best Sports Picks of the Day. The Falcons (5-3) snapped a two-game losing streak, driving 75 yards for the winning score after Rodgers put the Packers (4-3) ahead with his fourth TD pass of the game. With Julio Jones shut down in the second half, Ryan turned to Sanu to bail out Atlanta. He caught five passes for 50 yards on the final possession, the last of them a touchdown pass in the back of the end zone after he got matched against linebacker Jake Ryan. Profitable NFL Football Handicappers. The Green Bay player didn& #39;t have a chance. Sanu raced past him and hauled in the pass right in front of the goalposts, the ball easily clearing Ryan's outstretched hands.'' It was just finishing,'' Sanu said. ''We didn't finish the last two weeks.'' Sanu had nine catches for 84 yards, both season highs in his first year with the Falcons. Atlanta needed every one of them, since Jones was held to three catches for 29 yards and targeted only once in the second half - a dropped pass on the final possession. But Jones helped Sanu get open on the winning play, drawing two defenders when they lined up on the same side of the field. Ryan was 28 of 35 for 288 yards and three touchdowns. Rodgers threw for 246 yards, teaming up with a bunch of unknown receivers as the banged-up Packers played without six starters. Linebacker Clay Matthews and receiver Randall Cobb were among those who couldn't go because of hamstring injuries. Sports Handicappers. Three Green Bay receivers - Geronimo Allison, Trevor Davis and Jeff Janis - hauled in their first career touchdowns. Allison, in fact, had just been promoted from the practice squad and never caught a pass in an NFL game. Ditto for Davis, a rookie who had mainly been used as a returner. NFL Football Handicappers. The Packers took a 32-26 lead after the Falcons were caught with too many men on the field, giving Green Bay a first down rather than having to go for a fourth-and-1. Rodgers went to Janis for a 7-yard touchdown with 3:58 remaining, followed by a 2-point conversion. It wasn't enough. Sanu's touchdown tied the game, and Matt Bryant booted through the winning extra point. Bryant had already become the Falcons career leading scorer, passing Morten Andersen, with a PAT after Atlanta's first TD. RODGERS RUNSRodgers was also Green Bay's leading rusher with a career-high 60 yards on six carries. He broke his previous best of 57 yards in 2012, and posted the highest rushing total by a Packers quarterback since Don Majkowski's 88-yard effort in 1990. INJURY REPORTThe Falcons lost tight end Jacob Tamme to a right shoulder injury on the opening possession. Expert Sports Picks. Tamme took a hit at the end of a 13-yard reception, knocking the ball loose though the officials ruled his knee was already down. He went off the field holding his right arm and never returned. UP NEXTPackers: Return home next Sunday to face the Indianapolis Colts (3-5), in what will be the only game played in Green Bay during the month of November. Free NFL Football Picks. NFL Recap: San Diego Chargers (19) vs. Denver Broncos (27) - Date: 10/30/2016 The Denver Broncos took turns picking off and pummeling Philip Rivers in a 27-19 win over the San Diego Chargers on Sunday. But defensive coordinator Wade Phillips was taken to a hospital after getting knocked down during Brady Roby's 51-yard touchdown return in the second quarter, tempering their enthusiasm. San Diego running back Melvin Gordon was blocked into the 69-year-old assistant, who was strapped to a backboard and carted off the field. Point Shaving. The Broncos said Phillips was alert and had movement in his arms and legs when he arrived at the hospital via ambulance. With linebackers coach Reggie Herring taking over Denver's defensive calls for Phillips, the Broncos (6-2) had a goal-line stand in the closing minutes and picked off Rivers twice more in the second ha lf. Free NFL Football Picks. They only turned one of those takeaways into points, however, and that allowed the hard-luck Chargers (3-5) to stay in it until the end, forcing Denver to make two stands in the closing minutes. Safety Darian Stewart's takeaway gave Denver the ball at the San Diego 10, and Devontae Booker's 3-yard TD run made it 17-7. Safety T. J. Ward's interception set up his offense at the Chargers 7. But Booker, making his first career start after C. J. Anderson (knee) went on IR, fumbled at the San Diego 2 and linebacker Jatavis Brown recovered. Profitable Sports Handicappers. The Chargers capitalized with a 98-yard touchdown drive that ended with Travis Benjamin's one-handed TD grab. Shaq Barrett blocked Josh Lambo's extra point, keeping the score 17-13. Juwan Thompson, promoted from the practice squad Saturday, scored from the 1 to make it 24-13. But the Chargers got into the defensive act themselves when cornerback Casey Hayward returned a tipped pass from Trevor Siemian to Jordan Norwood 24 yards for a touchdown that made it 24-19. Antonio Gates' illegal pick negated a 2-point conversion catch by Gordon, and Jared Crick deflected Rivers' do-over pass, keeping it a five-point game. Profitable NFL Football Handicappers. The Chargers reached the Denver 2 with three minutes remaining but threw four consecutive incompletions without handing off to Gordon, who had 111 yards on 23 carries. San Diego's last gasp ended at midfield. Roby, starting in place of Pro Bowl cornerback Aqib Talib (lower back), gave Denver a 10-7 lead with a 51-yard pick-6 in the second quarter. Rivers' pass went off receiver Tyrell Williams' hands and Roby spun around and plucked the ball out of the air. He quickly found the sideline, slipped past tackle Joe Barksdale and outraced Rivers into the end zone. DIDN'T COUNT: Roby's pick-6 came a few minutes after DeMarcus Ware's strip-sack was overturned on review even though it appeared he had his hand on the football as Rivers was about to release it. Linebacker Corey Nelson, making his first career start in place of Brandon Marshall (hamstring), scooped up the ball and returned it to the San Diego 22. Ware was making his first start since breaking his right forearm in Week 2. DAWDLING DENVER : A week after holding Houston to three-and-outs on its first two drives, Denver's dawdling defense again surrendered a touchdown on its first series. Sports Touts. NFL Recap: Kansas City Chiefs (30) vs. Indianapolis Colts (14) - Date: 10/30/2016 Nick Foles threw two touchdown passes in relief of the injured Alex Smith to help the Kansas City Chiefs hold off Indianapolis 30-14 on Sunday. It was a rough game for the Chiefs, who lost Smith twice after hits to the head and finished the game with Charcandrick West as their only healthy running back. Smith was checked for a concussion in the first half and cleared to return, which he did in the second quarter. He left again early in the third quarter after Clayton Geathers shoved Smith's head to the turf as the quarterback tried to slide underneath the tackle. Smith was then diagnosed with a concussion and did not return.'' You call it the way that you've practiced it and you go in and let them go and let them play,'' Chiefs coach Andy Reid said. Somehow, both quarterbacks kept the Chiefs' offense in sync. Foles' 14 -yard TD pass to Travis Kelce early in the second quarter made it 10-0. Former Colts linebacker Gary Brackett wrote on Twitter that whoever cleared Smith to return should be fired, while the television announcers questioned the play call because of Smith's previous injury. Even Smith's wife, Elizabeth, piped in - questioning how many hits it takes to draw a flag. Smith took several hits to the head in last week's game that weren't called. NFL Football Handicappers.
